Start coding

The C# compiler downloads once (about 5 MB) and then runs inside your browser. It works best in the latest Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.

Common questions

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no fee, no sign-up and no limit on how often you run your code.

Do I need to install Visual Studio?

No. The C# compiler runs inside your browser, so you can start right away on a laptop or a phone.

Is my code saved?

Your code is saved only in this browser on this device, so you can come back to it later. It is never sent to us.

How do I give my program input?

Type it in the Input box, one value per line. Each Console.ReadLine() call reads the next line.

Which version of C# is this?

C# 12 on .NET 9. Programs run inside the browser, so reading files, using the internet and async code are not available here.
